Term Loans
A loan with a maturity of 1 to 10 years, which is repaid over the stated term through regular payments.
 
Secured Mortgages
A loan that is backed by a pledge of real estate collateral.
 
Asset-Based Loans
A secured business loan in which the borrower pledges specific assets as collateral, such as accounts receivable, inventory or equipment, that are to be used in the conduct of their business.
 
Revolving Loan Agreements
An agreement with a financial institution to lend a specific amount of money to a borrower. The agreement permits the borrower to access additional funds once the balance has been reduced.
 
Subordinated Debt
Debt that is either unsecured or has a lower priority than other outstanding debt at the company.
 
Mezzanine Debt
Financing for early-stage companies which generally have a track record of performance and may be approaching consideration of an Initial Public Offering.
 
Bridge Financing
Short-term financing that is expected to be repaid in a relatively short period of time and replaced with more permanent capital.
 
Equity
Permanent capital of a company in the form of common stock, preferred stock, and/or unit interests. These funds may be raised through private capital sources or public offerings.
